(Note: I'm playing fast and loose as far as the rules for Werewolf: The Apocalypse are concerned while trying not to make Iseul too ridiculously OP. If there's something in our thread that you'd rather he not do with your character, or anything you'd like to add, just let me know, and I'll be happy to work something out.)

  • Iseul is a human born Corax or were-raven, meaning he was born to human parents. He has a Korean father and a Native American mother. He's 1/4 Pacific Northwestern Native American, and was raised among Kinfolk in Alaska. He didn't grow up knowing what he was, but it was hard not to notice when ravens came to visit him on a semi regular basis. He just wrote it off as weird. Later he would realize that the birds were actually Corax there to check up on him.

  • His first change happened right around puberty at the age of 15. When he was done freaking out about having feathers, his guardian Corax showed up to teach him the ropes, and he received exactly one year of instruction before being cut loose to learn what he could on his own, which is the norm for were-ravens. They have occasional meetings and when one runs into the other they share information. They're incredibly good at sharing information. But Corax generally fly solo, pun intended.

  • He's actually kind of awkward on two legs. When he was younger he was downright clumsy. He's better as an adult, but no one would call him graceful.

  • Some of his mannerisms are noticeably bird like. Short twitchy movements. A cocked head. A tendency to crouch on top of things. They're infrequent, but they're there.

  • His eyesight is amazing, but his sense of smell is terrible.

  • Silver, while harmful to werewolves, does no harm to Corax. Iseul tends to wear a lot of it as it's useful for protection against a number of supernatural things.

  • Gold on the other hand burns, and it burns bad.

  • He has an eidetic memory. This plus the ability to mimic things exactly as he's heard them gives him the eerie ability to remember and replay entire conversations when he wants to.

  • He likes the Garou (werewolves) mostly. He shakes his head, because boy, do they do some dumb shit. He loves to tease them, but he's mindful that he doesn't piss off the wrong one, and end up in the jaws of some pissed off furry killing machine. He shares the opinion that most Corax hold: that the wolves are the best hope they have of keeping the Wyrm and saving the world or whatever.

  • Vampires wig him out. Or they do in principle. In actuality, he's been keeping some strange company as of late.

  • Because of their association with the sun, Corax cannot be made vampires. The result is instant painful death for the were-raven.

  • They cannot be posessed either.

  • Corax are driven by their curiosity. The need to ask questions is hard wired. Iseul has to know things so that he can tell things to the people who need to know them. He does know how to keep a secret, and he will if there's a good reason to, but most secrets are for telling as far as he's concerned.

  • Iseul does not shut up, because he cannot shut up. That too, is hard wired.

  • He drinks the eyes of the dead, and by drinking the eyes of the dead, he can see a person's last moments of life. It's a sacred duty, and something Corax do that they don't think twice about. Their job according to capital R, old man Raven, is to bear witness, and that includes the good and the bad. When the Carrion Call comes, they go.

  • Laughter is a coping mechanism. It's a Corax's job to know things. The world is an dark and ugly place, and knowledge can be crushing. So the Corax laughs away the darkness, and hopefully, lives to see another day. Unfortunately, sometimes their sense of humor leaves much to be desired.
